Amazon Settlement Report

Amazon's fortnightly ledger of unit sales, fees, and payouts. The primary source document for FBA reconciliation and EDPMS closure.

Definition

The Amazon Settlement Report is a periodic (typically 14-day) ledger Amazon publishes in Seller Central showing every unit sold, every fee deducted, every refund processed, and the resulting net amount wired to the seller's bank account. It's the atomic source of truth for reconciling Amazon FBA proceeds.

Access

Seller Central → Reports → Payments → Statement View. Two views:

Always use the flat-file V2 for reconciliation work.

Content categories

The report bundles four types of rows into one file:

  1. Order events — positive proceeds, one row per (order, price-type, fee-type)
  2. Refund / Chargeback events — reversals of prior orders
  3. Non-order charges — subscription, storage, advertising, adjustments
  4. Reserved Amount — Amazon-withheld receivables (not realized until released)

The report ends with a total-amount row — the net payable that wires to your bank.

Why it's the source of truth

Every downstream reconciliation — EDPMS closure, GST refund claim, bookkeeping — starts from the settlement report. If the source is wrong, everything downstream is wrong.

For Indian FBA exporters

Understanding the flat-file layout is the difference between a reconciliation packet the bank accepts and one that gets rejected. See our field-by-field walkthrough at anatomy of an Amazon settlement report.
