eBRC (Electronic Bank Realisation Certificate)

AD Bank-issued certificate confirming foreign-exchange realization against a specific shipping bill. Consumed by DGFT for scheme benefit claims like RoDTEP.

Definition

eBRC — Electronic Bank Realisation Certificate — is an electronic certificate issued by your AD Bank confirming that foreign-exchange proceeds have been received against a specific shipping bill. The eBRC is uploaded to DGFT's portal and consumed for DGFT scheme benefit claims (RoDTEP, Advance Authorisation, EPCG).

How it works

When your bank receives foreign-exchange proceeds attributable to an export, it issues an eBRC via DGFT's portal against the relevant shipping bill. The eBRC certifies the realized value in the settlement currency and the equivalent INR.

For Indian FBA exporters

Because FBA payments trickle in over 6-9 months, expect multiple partial eBRCs per shipping bill. Request them proactively from your AD Bank — many banks won't generate partial eBRCs on autopilot. Also note: your realized FX will always be lower than FOB (Amazon deducts fees before wiring), so DGFT scheme benefits get haircut proportionally.
