FBA Fees

The umbrella term for all fees Amazon deducts from FBA sellers — fulfillment, storage, long-term storage, removals, and returns.

Definition

FBA Fees is the umbrella term for every fee Amazon charges sellers who use Fulfilled by Amazon — the service where Amazon holds inventory, picks/packs orders, ships, and handles returns.

FBA fee categories

• FBA Fulfillment Fee (per-unit) — pick, pack, ship. Rate varies by size tier + weight + destination marketplace
• FBA Storage Fee (monthly) — dollars-per-cubic-foot; higher in Oct-Dec (Q4 peak)
• FBA Long-Term Storage Fee — applied on inventory sitting 181+ days in the warehouse; expensive
• FBA Aged Inventory Surcharge — additional charge for inventory sitting 271+ days
• FBA Removal / Disposal Fees — when you pull inventory out or dispose of it
• FBA Returns Processing Fee — for high-return-rate categories in specific marketplaces
• FBA Inventory Placement Service Fee — optional; consolidates inbound to fewer warehouses

FBA Fees are separate from Referral Fees (Amazon's marketplace commission).

Where they appear

All FBA Fees appear on your Amazon Settlement Report:

• Per-unit fulfillment fees appear on individual Order rows as item-related-fee-type
• Storage / long-term storage / removals appear as separate non-order rows

For Indian FBA exporters

FBA Fees are what makes SKU-level attribution complex — they're per-unit, but you're attributing per-shipping-bill. Getting this right requires proper FIFO handling across settlements. See anatomy of an Amazon settlement report for the field-level detail.

For the impact on your EDPMS realization, note: Amazon's FBA Fees + Referral Fees typically consume 25-40% of gross sale value. Your realized foreign exchange is what's left after both.
