Definition

The FBA Fulfillment Fee (sometimes called the FBA Per-Unit Fee) is the per-unit charge Amazon deducts for physically fulfilling an FBA order — picking the item from the warehouse, packing it, shipping it, and processing customer returns. Charged for every unit sold, appears on your Amazon Settlement Report as item-related-fee-type = FBAPerUnitFulfillmentFee.

Rate structure

Rates vary by:

• Product size tier — Amazon classifies every product into Small Standard, Large Standard, Small Oversize, Medium Oversize, Large Oversize, Special Oversize
• Weight — within a size tier, additional per-pound fees for heavier items
• Marketplace — different rates in US, UK, EU, JP, AU, IN
• Season — Q4 (Oct-Dec) has surcharges in most marketplaces

Example (indicative, US marketplace, Standard tier ≤1lb): ~$3.20 per unit. Oversize items can run $10-40+ per unit.

For Indian FBA exporters

For FBA sellers exporting from India, the Fulfillment Fee is a permanent per-unit deduction against gross sale. Combined with the Referral Fee (~15%), it typically consumes 25-40% of gross sale value. This is the systematic reason your realized foreign exchange is always less than your declared FOB.
